Cooperation Protocol between Selçuk University and MEB
A protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and Selçuk University to introduce the Foreign Students Examination (YÖS) abroad and to organize these exams in foreign schools associated with the Ministry.
Deputy Minister of National Education Mustafa Safran, Rector of Selçuk University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin and Rector of Ankara University Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, Rector of Bursa Uludağ University Prof. Dr. Eray Alper, Rector of Gaziantep University Prof. Dr. Ali Gür, Rector of Kütahya Dumlupınar University Prof. Dr. Remzi Gören and Rector of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Karaman attended the signing ceremony held at the Ministry of National Education. Within the scope of the protocols, 6 universities will use the schools of the Ministry of National Education in 16 countries as an exam center for the Examination for Foreign Students. Teachers working in these places will also be invigilators. The Ministry of National Education will carry out joint promotional activities with universities in order to increase the number of foreign students. With the protocols signed, the number of universities in this field has increased to 13.
THIS SHOWS THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION INCREASED
Deputy Minister of National Education Mustafa Safran, in his speech at the ceremony, emphasized that the developments in the field of biotechnology and science will accelerate in the coming years and that preparing the young people for this change is very important for the countries. Drawing attention to young population in Turkey, Safran said that "In particular, we want students we have sent abroad in recent years to prepare themselves for occupations needed in the world, and make use of this knowledge in the coming years in our country." Pointing out that the number of foreign students studying at universities in our country is around 114,700, Safran stated that the increase in the number of foreign students shows that the quality of education has increased. Safran, indicating that the YÖS is conducted in nearly 50 countries, said that our universities attract more foreign students to Turkey and we can make more healthy exams with the help of protocols. Safran also added that they expect contributions from all partners of education, which is aimed for 2023 education vision.
Rector of Selçuk University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin maintained that the protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education will lead foreign students coming to our country from abroad to increase and to be more qualified. He also said that as Selçuk University, they will contribute to this process and will work to become a education base for our country.
