Selçuk University Çumra School of Applied Sciences was founded by the Ministry of National Education dated 12/09/2011 and numbered 18597 and published in the Official Gazette numbered 28094 with the decree dated 26/09/2011 and numbered 2011/2276. In accordance with the Law No. 2547 (Article 7 / d-2 amended by Law No. 2880), the opening of the Department of Organic Agriculture Management by the Council of Higher Education was approved on 24.04.2013.
To be a pioneer and preferred department on the basis of innovation, entrepreneurship and scientificness in the field of organic farming management in national and international level.
To educate individuals who are experts in organic farming management techniques and practices, who are dominant in business administration and management, who are able to use information technologies effectively and who are sensitive to work ethic and social responsibility.
In recent years, the demand for organic products which emphasize environmental and human health, is increasing steadily. This upward trend is accompanied by the need for skilled labor. The aim of the Department of Organic Farming Management is to train the qualified personnel needed by the organic agriculture sector.
The Organic Farming Management Program is a four (4) year training program that provides students with undergraduate education and degrees. The program was developed with an interdisciplinary approach. Students learn not only about organic farming techniques and practices, but also about production, marketing, accounting, finance, management and organization and strategic management related to business administration. Candidates wishing to enroll in the Department of Organic Farming Management must complete the examinations that determined by the Student Selection and Placement Center within the academic and legal framework of the university. Candidates can make their choice according to the YGS-6 score. A student who is studying in the equivalent program at home or abroad must apply for a transfer. Acceptance of students is examined at the ning of the semester, taking into consideration the conditions of each student and the degree to which he/she has applied.
Recognition of Prior Learning: Recognition of the previous formal student in Turkish higher education institutions, transitions within the vertical, horizontal and university are realized within the scope of the "Higher Education Regulations on Transfer of Students between the Programs with Assosiate and Bachelor Degree Programs, Double Branch, Side Branch and Credit Transfers Between The Institutions".
In order to graduate from the program for a student in which he/she is enrolled, and successfully completed the courses required for the graduation envisaged in that program, successfully complete the applications required by the program, internship and similar studies, have a CGPA of at least 2.00 over 4.00 and need to be a minimum of 240 ECTS credits is required.
The student achievement of the lesson is determined by the instructor in ge of the lecture, after the final exam, according to the letter grade given by taking the sum of midterm exam grade average 40% and final exam grade 60%.
Students who graduate from Organic Farming Management Program can work in public institutions and organizations related to the field, research institute, municipalities, certification institutions, private sector enterprises related to organic agricultural production and sales as well as their own businesses.
Students who graduate from this program can apply to study at master degree programs.
