Selcuk University Faculty of Dentistry was officially established in accordance with Article 8 of Law No. 3389 published in the Official Gazette on 18.06.1987. As the Founding Dean Dr. I. Timur Esener has been appointed. The faculty started its first activities rapidly within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and received its first students in September 1988. The Faculty of Dentistry started its undergraduate education with 44 students and reached its first building in 1989. The first graduates of the faculty started their clinical activities in the second year of the students and gave a total of 26 dentists in 1993. Then, with its rapidly growing academic staff and student capacity, it has reached its second building and then its third building which has been built as an additional building. The faculty has made great efforts in the arrival of today. Dr. I. Prof. Dr. Timur Esener was the founder dean after three terms and each of them made great contributions to the faculty of dentistry. Dr. Adnan Öztürk, Professor Dr. Tamer Ataoğlu, Professor Dr. Faruk Ayhan Başçiftçi, Prof.Dr. Dr. Bora Öztürk served as dean respectively. Now our faculty has a physical area of ​​approximately 12,000 m2 with around 630 undergraduate students, approximately 120 specialties and 10 doctoral students in Konya province, district and surrounding provinces, patients with advanced technology and experienced academic staff with a large dental dental health services. faculty. There are 21 professors, 10 associate professors, 5 assistant professors, 1 expert, 120 research assistants and 10 PhD students in the academic staff of our faculty. There are 8 department clinics, 1 integrated clinic, 2 preclinics, 1 phantom clinic, sterilization center and 1 research laboratory in our faculty. Apart from these, elderly, disabled and so on. In order to provide a better health service to our special group patients, studies are continuing for a multi-purpose advanced technology application clinic and an operating room infrastructure where general anesthesia can be applied.
