About :

The Department of Food Engineering started to take its first students in 1997 and gave its first graduates in 2000. After graduation, our students graduate with MSc Food Engineer and Ph.D Food Engineer.



Vision :

The aim of Food Engineering postgraduate education is to educate individuals who can contribute to scientific, technological and economic developments of the age, sensitive to humanity problems and aware of their professional responsibilities.



Mission :

Contribute to development of Food Science, Food Technology and Food Security with its innovator, creative, entrepreneur educated food engineers.



Purpose :

The Department of Food Engineering aims to deepen and improve students' undergraduate knowledge through theoretical knowledge and applied research in the fields of food production, chemistry, safety, assurance, microbiology and biotechnology. In the postgraduate education of the Food Engineering Department, further education and research opportunities are provided to food engineers to meet the needs of the food industry.

Definition of Program :

Selcuk University, Department of Food Engineering is an interdisciplinary department which carry out modern science and engineering concepts in production, processing, packing and delivering of food. S.U. Food Engineering has three programs: undergraduate education, master and Ph.D. Our programs are constantly updated to meet the needs of the rapidly developing and growing food industry.



Admission and Registration Requirements :

Recognition of Previous Education :

To be admitted to the department of food engineering, candidates must meet the criteria of transfer to the department, stated in Selcuk University Postgraduate Education and Exam Regulations.



Graduation Requirements :

For graduation, the students must complete successfully all courses set out by the department and defense his/her thesis in the commision besides meeting the requirements of Selcuk University Postgraduate Education and Exam Regulations.



Assessment and Evaluation Regulations :

Exams, assessments and scoring are carried out in accordance with Selcuk University Postgraduate Education and Exam Regulations.



Employment Oppurtunities :

Candidates who have completed their postgraduate education in the Department of Food Engineering can be employed in the private sector in the fields related to their thesis. For public employees, this degree is more advantageous in taking administrative positions.



Access to Further Studies :
