About :

Selçuk University Department of Economics started education as a normal education in 1987 under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In 1992, the department continued its education with secondary education. The academic structure of the department of economics consists of 4 (four) departments: Economic Theory, Economic History, Economic Policy and Economic Development and International Economics. Within the academic structure of the department, 9 professors, 6 associate professors, 2 doctor lecturers, 5 research assistants and 2 lecturers, a total of 24 lecturers and staff are employed. In the Department of Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, History of Economic Thought, Economic Growth, Economy of Turkey as several economics courses as well as business, finance, law, belonging to other disciplines such as statistics courses are also available.

Mission :

Students today will allow the world and the recognition and understanding of Turkey's economy, the theoretical as much current debate on the ground that an economic education to give both science that highlight the interaction as well as other social sciences, interdisciplinary conduct research that pushes the boundaries of economics with a research philosophy and part of the academic accumulation to share with the community.



Purpose :

To produce and share information on economic issues. For this purpose - especially about Turkey Economy, it makes quality research at international level. - Undergraduate programs are focused on training creative and free-thinking individuals who can work successfully in the private and public sectors, understand the main economic concepts and methods, and develop analytical thinking and problem solving skills. - Postgraduate programs are focused on training qualified economists who can conduct independent research and specialize in certain subjects that can meet the demands of institutions with economists.
