Mission :

Mission: The goal of Construction Technician is to educate people who will work as technical staff in housing, dams, roads, bridges, airports, etc. by providing inspection services and in firms actively involved in construction or management of local natural resources, land and who can work as part of their structure and material testing laboratory .

Purpose :

The target of Construction Program is to provide qualified human resources who have all theoretical and practical knowledge on the field of Construction. At the end of the program, students can draw through computers and prepare for the software used in construction. Using the appropriate tools students can help detail Project planning for all types of structures. During the design and construction of small changes to be made to an existing structure they can help design and elaborate temporary jobs. They can review Building construction pictures, to ensure workers to make appropriate business image they can draw appropriate free hand painting. They help structural maintenance and repair preparation. They can use Manufacturer data and suggests nevica to be used in all construction work on the facility using other relevant information. They can use the laboratory equipment for experimental studies in order to check the quality of construction work and perform related experiments. They can make Initial estimates of costs and help the preparation program.

Definition of Program :

Program Description: a two-year education is given in construction program (four semesters and at least 14 weeks each semester ) . Students do an internship at the end of each 6-week education and project-based training and in contractors especially in construction sites or the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, etc. . This program has the capacity flexibility and diversity to meet the expectations of construction industry by giving proper training in harmony with todays technology.

Admission and Registration Requirements :

Admissions Requirements: Students who transferred via Exam of Higher Education Institutions (YKS) or horizontal direct transfer may be exempted from courses they previously took and they could pass successfully by the decision of the Board of Directors.

Graduation Requirements :

Graduation Requirements: A student to graduate from the program must have taken and passed all courses, and completed all practices, 30 day summer internship etc. successfully, and their graduation average point and ECTS credit must be at least 2.00 and 120 ECTS credit respectively.

Assessment and Evaluation Regulations :

Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Program Evaluation criteria are organized in the theoretical lectures and practical work as a main structure. For each course at least one midterm and one final exam is done for each semester. Instructor can make teaching activities like course quizzes, projects, field work, etc., according to the state during the semester. Instructor is free to evaluate the success according to midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, projects, etc. Each instructor will announce the criteria to evaluate the success at the ring of the period. Students success for each course is determined by the instructor as a letter grade by the total of 40 % of midterm exam and 60 % of final exam. A student must take at least CC letter grade to be successful. Instructor can decide a lower point than the point of grade below but cannot change the letter of grade lower than the table below as a successful point of grade. Students with same point cannot be given different letter of grade. A students letter of grade cannot be lower than a student with a lower point. Letter of grades and their values are shown below: 90-100 AA 4.00 85-89 BA 3.50 75-84 BB 3.00 70-74 CB 2.50 60-69 CC 2.00 55-59 DC 1.50 50-54 DD 1.00 40-49 FD 0.50 0-39 FF 0.00 - F 0.00 AA, BA, BB, CB, CC:Successful, DC, DD: If students weighted grade point average is at 2.00 or above successful if not unsuccessful. FD,FF: unsuccessful, F: has no right to enter the exams because of absenteeism or being unsuccessful. G: Passes, successful in non-credit courses, K: Fails, unsuccessful in non-credit courses. M: Exempt the note they take from the program they study and be successful before in the orientation of the students who are accepted from a higher education program through external and undergraduate transfer or have re-recording right through central placement while studying in a higher education program

Employment Opportunities: They are technical staff in the framework of regulations working in production planning and control phase of an involved project for all buildings ranging from housing to commercial centers . They Can work in building materials and testing laboratories. They can work in all kinds of building construction services. They can also work in Official institutions and municipalities as well as in private institutions

Access to Further Studies :

Jump to Top Degree Programs: Students who complete Associate Degree Program Tourism and Hotel Management successfully can be vertically transferred to similar departments of faculties through the exam called DGS.
