Social Sciences Vocational School of Higher Education is one of the primal units of Selcuk University. Our school has been founded in 1975 under the name of Higher School of Foreign Languages as an affiliate organization of National Education Ministry. Until 1980 Foreign languages were the onliest field of study. In 1980 two additional departments, namely Management and Accounting, were ed. Upon the changes regarding to the Law of Higher Education in 1982, Konya Vocational School was affiliated to the Selcuk University and three major study areas, Social Sciences, Technical Sciences and Health Care Sciences Schools served as sub departments until 1990. These three sub departments were reorganized as separate Vocational High Schools in 1992. Students are admitted to our schools in order to be educated to serve as functional level staff in the areas such as Banking and Insurance, Foreign Trede, Tourism, Accounting and Taxation, Marketing, Secretarial Services and Public Relations. All the departments in our school have ?Evening Education? option. As of 2003-2004 academic year our enrollment number reached to 4850 students including all departments. Number of academic staff in our school is about seventy. All our student are educated with computer aided courses and additionally Tourism And Hotel Management and Tourism Guidance departments students are subject to one year English Preparation Curricullum in Foreign Languages High School. Periodical training courses are compulsory for all fields of study.
