The presence of pottery and earthenware in some of our villages, known as "Güdelesin" among the people, is evidence that Güneysınır and its environs have been used as settlements since prehistoric times.

In the district of Güneysınır, a continental climate prevails and a moderating effect of the Mediterranean climate is observed. In the region where the natural vegetation is steppe, as you go up to the heights, forest areas consisting of juniper, oak and pine which are scattered over an area of 33.198 hectares are called.




The town of Güneysınır, which was formerly connected to Bozkır, was turned into Karasınır and Güneybağ (Elmasun) towns of Çumra in 1955. These two towns 09.05.1990 dated and 3644 numbered law, merged to form the town of Güneysınır. Karasinir, Güneybağ and Emirbag districts are located in the district center. . Konya province Çumra, Bozkır, and Hadim districts and Kazımkarabekir district of Karaman province is a border. Located 70 km south of Konya and 44 km west of Karaman, a large part of Güneysınır district is mountainous.




The Göksu stream, which flows through the Taurus Mountains, forms the border between the district and Hadim district. Kızılöz and Aydoğmuş ponds constitute the main water bodies. The Kızılöz village irrigation pond is located on an area of 3000 m², the Kızılöz village irrigation pond is located on an area of 1000 m², 3 km south of Aydoğmuş and both ponds are used for irrigation.
