Q.4-How can I become a member of the library?

 

Selcuk University students and academic and administrative staff are required to open a user account by visiting the Lending Unit in order to become a member of the library.

 

Q.5-Do I have to pay a fee for membership?

 

No, there is no fee for membership.

 

Q.6-How many materials do I have the right to borrow as a library member?

The right to borrow material varies by user type. For more information; See the Lending page.

 

Q.7-Where are the borrowing-return transactions?

 

It is done at the Lending Unit on the ground floor of the library. Selcuk University students and academic and administrative staff are required to show their Selcuk University ID cards for material borrowing.

 

Q.8-Can I borrow books on behalf of someone else?
No. The user is obliged to carry out the transactions that put the user under his responsibility.

 

 

Q.9-I don't recall how many books I have borrowed and their dates of return. How can I learn?

 

You can see the books you have borrowed from the Loan Tracking section, the dates of return, the books you have returned and how much you owe.

Q.10-What are the penalties determined by the library for the sources of delayed returns?
The delay fee is 0.10 kurus per day for each material. For each delayed book, the user places 1 penalty point on the user's digit, the memberships of the users who fill the 100 penalty points are canceled (blocked) and no books are borrowed.
Q.11-I lost the book I borrowed. What should I do?
You should take the same edition of the lost book and hand it to the person in the library. For books that do not continue printing or are not available in the market, they are charged by adding 2 times the market value of the book.
Q.12-Can I borrow periodicals, reference materials, theses or newspapers?
Periodicals, reference sources (dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.), theses and newspapers are not borrowed.

 

Q.13-How can I reach Selçuk University theses?
Printed copies of the master's and doctoral theses published at Selçuk University can be found in the Thesis Hall on the lower floor of the library. You can also access the theses that thesis authors allow full text access from the Digital Archive System of Selçuk University.

 

Q.14-Can databases and electronic journals be scanned off-campus?

You can use our university's proxy server to make use of our university databases while outside the campus area. For more information; See Dış Off-Campus Access ”.

 

Q.15-How can I find the book I am looking for?

You can search by entering the subject title, author name, book name, keyword in the catalog search section of the library web page or in the search terminals located in the library entrance. After scanning, you can reach the place number by looking at the detailed record of the book.
Q.16-What is the location number?

 

The place number is the number that makes it easy to find on the shelf according to the subject of the book. With this system, you can see the books on the shelves together on the same subject.

 

Q.17-Can I bring a book that is not in the library from another library?

This service is only available to graduate students, doctorate students and academic staff. If you are in the specified group, you can bring books from another university library. To request a book, you need to complete the Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Q.18-How many books can I get through interlibrary loan (ILL)?

 

You can request up to 5 books. The usage time varies according to the library.

Q.19-Who can benefit from TÜBESS service?
This service is only available to graduate students, doctorate students and academic staff. Users can request maximum 3 theses at a time.

 

Q.20-What can I do to get the book I want to the library?

 

You can fill out the Book Order Form for the books you want to purchase.

Q.21-Is there a photocopy service available in the library?

 

Yeah. The photocopy room is located in the corridor on the right side of the Lending Unit.
